The Chinese especially valued jadeite and have used the gemstone for multiple purposes. Jadeite gems are said to possess health-strengthening abilities and improve longevity. Jadeite is similar to Jade, but is harder, more dense and much rarer. Most of it comes from Burma. Jadeite's primary colors are variations of green - blue-green, deep green, and pale green. However, you can find it in a handful of rare colors from pink, lavender, and even black.
