Country of Origin
USA, Iran
Turquoise is an opaque, blue-to-green mineral that is a hydrous phosphate of copper and aluminium. It is rare and valuable in finer grades and has been prized as a gemstone for millennia due to its hue. Turquoise occurs in spots where acidic water comes into contact with copper, forming veins or nuggets of stone. Large pieces can be found in the Western part of the United States.
